Doctor Andy Dawson is our specialist consultant and professional Travel Doctor here at Nelson Family Medicine. 

Andy has worked as a General Practitioner and Doctor in Scotland, in Africa, and in Hamilton and Queenstown in New Zealand, before settling into life in Nelson in 1996. For over a decade he has been the recognised specialist Travel Doctor at Nelson Family Medicine.

Alongside his Travel Medicine experience Andy brings a solid background in Occupational Health, combine this with his inquisitive nature and easy going personality and you can understand why patients like to visit with Andy before heading overseas.

Travel Doctor appointments with Andy are 15 minutes long, after which you will see a nurse for 30 minutes and the required vaccines will be be administered. The cost for this specialist travel consultation is $90, plus the cost of the vaccines, please note the consultation charge needs to be paid before attending your appointment.
